The set dancing events in this list take place on a regular basis - weekly, monthly, fortnightly or bimonthly. The majority of them are classes; regularly scheduled live music ceilis are also included.

The following symbols are used in the listings -

live music live music   fifth day fifth day   children only children only
weekly all-year live music ceili weekly all-year live music ceili   last day last day   new! new!
first day first day   fortnightly - phone to confirm fortnightly - phone to confirm   tea served tea served
second day second day   bimonthly - odd months bimonthly - odd months   monthly on various weeks - please confirm monthly on various weeks - please confirm
third day third day   bimonthly - even months bimonthly - even months
fourth day fourth day   See schedule. See schedule.

Live music live music events are usually ceilis though some classes have live music. Make special note of the events marked with weekly all-year live music ceili - these are weekly ceilis with live music that take place all year round. The numbered dots indicate which week an event takes place on. For example, second Sunday beside a Sunday event means it takes place on the second Sunday of the month. Some of the ceilis are also listed in the main events list - click on the symbol See schedule. to see the schedule of dates and bands.

All classes and ceilis are generally open to all dancers, beginners and experienced. If a class is aimed at a specific level this is indicated where known. Visitors are welcome and some classes even waive the cost to visitors attending a single class. If you're on holiday or travelling near a class be sure to drop in. Contact names are shown at the end of an entry for the teacher or organiser. Click on a highlighted name to get the phone number. It's always a good idea to phone before attending a class for the first time. Most classes don't run during the summer - this is shown in the entry if known.

Set Dancing News strives to keep this information accurate and up-to-date. However, some entries in the listings may be old and obsolete. Set dancing classes generally operate from year to year in the same venue with the same teacher, so once a class is added here, it remains listed until notification of a change is received. Entries are removed after around three years if no further confirmation of a class is received. To keep your class listing current, please confirm it annually to Bill Lynch. Information on new, changed and cancelled classes is welcome. There is no charge for including an event here.

Note: most entries are followed by a white dot - move your mouse over it to see the source of the information and when it was received.
