28-30 August 2009Pádraig and Róisín McEneany lead workshops and the Copperplate Ceili Band provide music at this charity weekend. Dancing starts at the ceili on Friday night from 8.30pm to 12.30am. 25-27 September 2009Another in a series of workshop weekends where as many different sets as possible are danced without repetition. The marathon starts on Friday night when the McNamara Ceili Band from London plays from 8-11.30pm in Carnival Hall, Council Road, RG21 3DH. The rest of the weekend is in Old Basing, with a workshop by Tony Ryan all day Saturday and on Sunday morning. The Davey Ceili Band plays for ceilis on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. 23-25 October 2009Manchester's big weekend of competitions and ceilis features music by the Copperplate Ceili Band. Ceilis are at 8.30pm from Friday through Sunday. On Saturday the ceili is held in the Longfield Suite, Longfield Centre, Rectory Lane, Prestwich, M25, where junior and senior competitions take place all day from 10am. 23 October-1 November 2009Return to Camden Town is a ten-day celebration of Irish music, song and dance in the inner London district of Camden which was once the home of many Irish immigrants. The festival offers a full programme of sessions, concerts and music classes, and also includes ceilis and dance workshops. The festival is based at the London Irish Centre which was the city's first such centre and has been operating for over fifty years.
Workshops on the first weekend, 24-25 November, are taught by Timmy McCarthy and the ceilis feature Taylor's Cross Ceili Band. A ceili on Tuesday evening has music by the McNamara Ceili Band with Karen Ryan, Gary Connolly, Kathy Walton and Pete Quinn. Special guests the following weekend are the Kilfenora Ceili Band.

30 October-1 November 2009, £148This weekend of set dancing is held in a traditional dance centre based in a beautiful Tudor mansion with a lounge bar, library, terraced lawns and scenic views. West country teacher Maggie Daniel leads the workshops and Pendragon led by John Dudley is the resident band. Ceilis are on Friday from 8.30 and Saturday 8 until 11pm and on Sunday from 2.30 to 5pm. Maggie's workshops are on Saturday from 10am to 4.45pm and on Sunday from 10am to 2.15pm. The price includes dancing, on-site B&B and full board. Contact Ken Lamport.

6-8 November 2009This weekend of Scottish and Irish dancing in the Scottish highlands includes Irish set dancing workshops conducted by Jim Barry, plus more classes by at least four Scottish tutors in Scottish ceilidh, quadrilles, step and Highland dancing. Classes feature live music and run morning and afternoon on Saturday and Sunday. Dancing starts with a Scottish ceilidh on Friday, on Saturday there's a big concert and ceilidh, and the weekend concludes at a Ho-Ro Gheallaidh or a final session on Sunday afternoon.
