Set Dancing News is published as a magazine every two months. Every issue is full of news, reports from recent events, photographs, listings of upcoming events and useful advertisements. Also included are instructions for a previously unpublished set, articles about bands and musicians and a page or two of letters from set dancers. There are occasional articles on historical aspects of set dancing, interviews with notable dancers and musicians, observations on the current dance scene and other special features.

Note that most of the magazine is also available on this web site, but some material appears only in the magazine. Special feature articles on history, interviews with well known figures, comments on modern day dance etiquette and instructions for recently revived sets are not available on the Internet. Every issue also contains several pages of events listings and advertisements. The events listings are always kept up to date here on the web site and are then copied to the magazine, but the other material usually appears first in the magazine and becomes available on the web site later.
