There was a surprise presentation between sets on Thursday night in August in Kilfenora, Co Clare. It was Ger Mulgannon's first night dancing again in Vaughan's Barn after a six week holiday in Australia. There to greet her was the 'husband' she allegedly married on a side trip to Thailand and was handed their well dressed 'child' to much amusement in the hall. The beautifully behaved kid goat playing the part of the child was completely unaffected by all the fuss, thanks to the good upbringing by farmer and set dancer Gussie Houlihan. Ger has since become godmother to the kid.

The Dome is a spacious marquee set in a playing field where nearly 100 sets danced in good comfort. Shown here is the Caledonian set at Friday night's ceili with Sean Norman and his band and over 50 sets on the floor.

The Fodhla Ceili Band from Dublin played lovely dance music in the Dome on Saturday night.

The sun blazed, the floor sloped and the music was hard to hear but still the floor was jammed at the afternoon outdoor ceilis on Saturday, shown here, and Sunday.

Old friends Ciarán MacMathúna and Matt Cunningham had a few words during the break in the ceili.
