The second birthday of the monthly ceilis in Carrigaline, Co Cork, was celebrated in December 1998 with a cake and a bagpiper. Everyone shared a slice and a cup of tea.

Tea is served at special occasions in Vaughan's Barn, Kilfenora, Co Clare, such as the Christmas party in December 1998.

Most ceilis in Northern Ireland feature a supper break with tea, sandwiches and cake. This is the break at the monthly dance in Hilltown, Co Down in January 1999. Playing that night was Cathal McAnulty and band, seen here playing the national anthem.
