Michael and Betty Sexton enjoy their comforts by the kitchen range at home in Mullagh, Co Clare.
As well as being busy with the band, Michael and Betty still keep cattle on their farm in Mullagh. They have raised two children, both married now.
The Michael Sexton Ceili Band at the Grand Hotel, Malahide, Co Dublin, January 1999 - Pat Curtin, Caroline O'Dea, Ralph Morgan, Dave Culligan, Mick Mulkerrin calling the sets, Michael Sexton and George Byrt.
After a car breakdown in bad weather, Sean Dempsey arrived to call a ceili with Michael Sexton in Batley, West Yorkshire, drenched and covered by a blanket. He was revived quite successfully by borrowing clothes from Dave Culligan, the band's drummer, and our photographer who deserves most of the credit for Sean's exceptionally smart appearance.

Here's what set dancing looked like before the Irish got hold of it! These dancers are performing a quadrille in period costume during a break in the St Patrick's Day set dancing at Cecil Sharp House, London. The dancers are from the Quadrille Club organised by Ellis and Chris Rogers second and third from the left.
